It's probably best you read the About Me section on the homepage first so this makes a bit more sense.
This is probably my most consistent hobby lately; I go about 2x a month on north shore. There's a spot on north shore that is usually free and secluded from most people throughout the day and especially at night. I usually either bring one person or a bigger group and set up tents, a campfire, lights and make it more glamping than camping. One of my core memories now is camping with Nick and Matt and then waking up early and driving 30 seconds down the road to go skydiving.
I think the reason I like camping so much here is that it's kind of a reset from the rest of the week. The service here is slow and besides music I stay off my phone. I find myself just talking to the people I bring and not worrying about what I have to do next. So far I haven't had a bad camping trip (even when it rains, which has happened twice). I've also really been enjoying getting my setup just right: I recently got a wagon and storage crates to make it so I can get my setup to the site in one trip and also got battery powered string lights and tiki torches (don't cancel me) for an ambiance when the fire dies down. I think my next investment will be an electric air pump and a double-height air mattress.
After getting certified during my Thailand trip, i've been trying to dive more. I'm currently saving up for my own equipment so it won't cost so much for me to dive here in Hawaii where dives are $100+. So far, I've scuba dove in Thailand, here in Hawaii, Barbados and Curaçao.

Honolulu
This was defenitley the most expensive thing I ever bought but I haven't regretted it yet! I use it almost daily now to commute to campus which saves me from spending $300 a semester in parking pass costs so really its saving me money... right?
I worked for Onyx the summer in between high school and moving here for college and it was such a fun experience and I think I learned alot not only from a manufacturing standpoint but also just interacting with some really cool people that I think helped me grow as a person. Unfortunately, the one they gave me (I worked for free in exchange for a bike) was stolen here in Hawaii after months of someone trying to steal it. Now that I don't live on campus and airtags are a thing, I feel a little bit better about having it here. This one isn't as cool as the one I built myself but its still so much fun to ride.
Right now I'm mad at it though as the rear wheel is causing me alot of issues and I don't know why. The motor seems to get loose and slide forward even through the motor stays should be preventing this. Grr
This one had a custom paint job, underglow lighting and a bunch of upgraded parts. Evenetually I'd like to get some on my new bike
He cut a gate off its hinges, cut through a chain lock and a skunklock and still didn't get it! Someone finally did though when I ran into a building to grab something and threw it in the back of a van :(
Anna S. hiking
I haven't been on a proper hike in a few months now but it's the thought that counts ;) Some of my favorites here are Waimano Falls, Mt. Olympus and Ka'au crater loop. A while ago I got really into mapping all the trails, camping spots and waterfalls I knew about so below is a map of all those. For my capstone project for college I think it would be really cool to combine this interest with CENG and have LoRaWAN sensors high up in the mountains for node-based signal relaying. I haven't really thought of a practical use for this yet (maybe weather monitoring?) but I love the idea of self-sufficient, high redundancy sensors relaying data. Ima a nerd.
I recently got into sewing and its been alot of fun making stuff for my friends and for fixing stuff that i've had. I made a tote bag for my Mom for Christmas and then also made one for myself. I've also made some Palaka shorts for my roomates' for their birthdays. My friend Elyse and I have also been having sewing parties where she brings her machine over, we have a drink, and work on our projects together.
